Catch the Capsule Keynote Speakers at INTA’s Annual Meeting & Leadership Meeting

Published: September 16, 2020

When you want the most powerful insight, go straight to the top. INTA’s 2020 Annual Meeting & Leadership Meeting educational program will feature a series of capsule keynote speakers—senior leaders and thought leaders in government and industry who will share their thoughts and experiences on a variety of timely topics.

Their presentations, which are peppered throughout the Annual Meeting programming (November 16–20), will provide key takeaways for immediate implementation into daily practice and for planning for the future.

Kicking off the series is former journalist Brad Phillips, expert media and presentation trainer, and Chief Executive of Throughline Group (USA). Setting the tone for a virtual event, he will discuss how to present yourself in the virtual world—from structuring video talks to modifying body language. His capsule keynote takes place on the first day of the Annual Meeting portion of the event, November 16, so that registrants can immediately apply his tips and tricks on leaving a good impression for the duration of the Annual Meeting and beyond.

Also from the C-suite, Trisch Smith, Global Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, at Edelman (USA), will be presenting on a relevant topic in today’s world. Among other global crises, 2020 has been defined by issues relating to diversity and inclusion, both in public and private life. As part of a track of programming focused on this topic, Ms. Smith will share how Edelman, a digital agency, is working to ensure its team reflects the increasingly diverse marketplace in which it operates. Registrants will walk away inspired, motivated, and armed with practical advice they can take back to their own organizations.

In a presentation that will touch on both professional advancement and diversity, strategist and storyteller Hannah Ubl will speak about “Creating an Awesome Culture.” Ms. Ubl, co-founder of Good Company Consulting (USA), an organization dedicated to helping businesses create authentic, empowering workplaces, will shed light on strategies that actually matter for today’s workforce and the workforce of the future, and will challenge how attendees think about culture, communication, work ethic, and trust.

On the government side, spread throughout the Meeting and speaking to a common theme of “key issues affecting brands,” the heads of various intellectual property (IP) offices around the world will take the virtual stage. They are:

  • EUIPO Executive Director Christian Archambeau (Spain)
  • Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and USPTO Director Andrei Iancu (USA)
  • SIC Deputy Superintendent Maria José Lamus (Colombia)
  • IPOS Chief Executive/Registrar Rena Lee (Singapore)
  • UKIPO Chief Executive and Comptroller General Tim Moss (United Kingdom)

INTA will be announcing additional capsule keynote presenters from industry and government, which will include a speaker on the Mandarin-language track. Registrants can watch the sessions live or on demand, and some speakers will be available for informal Q&A following their talks.
