Trademark Administrators and Paralegals to Learn About Emerging Intellectual Property Issues at Global Meeting in Orlando, Florida
Published: July 18, 2018
New York, New York—July 18, 2018—The annual Trademark Administrators and Practitioners (TMAP) Meeting hosted by the International Trademark Association (INTA) will bring together hundreds of professionals from around the world on September 12 to 14 in Orlando, Florida, to hear from experts on emerging trademark and brand-related issues, to share experiences and best practices, and to participate in charitable and networking opportunities.
The presentations are tailored for both experienced and new trademark administrators, paralegals, and other practitioners who focus on a global trademark portfolio and brand protection strategies. Sessions have been expanded this year to include intellectual property‒related topics that many trademark professionals are increasingly handling in their roles—such as trademark advertising, data privacy, and copyrights and designs. In addition, an entire session will focus on professional development.
Speakers hail from law firms and brands worldwide, offering a global perspective from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America.
“TMAP has gained a reputation for being engaging and valuable for those new to the trademark industry as well as those who are highly experienced, and this year’s meeting promises to do the same,” said INTA CEO Etienne Sanz de Acedo. “Since we have professionals attending from around the world and U.S. registrants working on international projects, we will be delivering compelling content that presents a global view of the issues affecting all of us.”
Among the numerous networking opportunities, for the second consecutive year, the TMAP Meeting includes a team-building event to support a local charity. On September 12, attendees can volunteer to sort and bag produce at Second Harvest Food Bank of South Florida, a nonprofit organization that provides food and other services to individuals and feeding programs in Central Florida.
